The Shopify → AutoDS Product Sync feature is a new update that makes product management a whole lot easier. Now, whenever you make changes to a product directly in your Shopify store, those changes will automatically sync to your AutoDS account.

Who will absolutely love this? While it’s useful for anyone who owns a Shopify dropshipping store, it’s mostly designed for sellers who prefer to manage their products from the Shopify side. How It Works: Behind the Scenes
So, how does the sync products from Shopify feature actually work? Let’s start from the beginning. The first thing you need to enable this is to have your AutoDS account connected to your Shopify store.
That’s pretty much all you have to do. No setup is needed, as it runs automatically for all connected Shopify users. Then, automation does its magic. In short, the system listens for changes made in your Shopify store and automatically mirrors them in your AutoDS account.
You don’t need to do any extra clicks or manual updates, literally. It doesn’t matter if it’s a single product or multiple ones: the tool works quietly in the background to make sure both platforms stay perfectly in sync.
Here’s what gets updated from Shopify to AutoDS:
- Title
- Description
- Tags
- Colllections
- Quantity
- Price
Each field follows specific rules to ensure accurate updates. Let’s take a look at them.
Title, Descriptions, Tags, and Collections
These fields sync instantly without any alerts or notifications. Just seamless updates from Shopify to AutoDS so your product info stays consistent. Same with media: if a video or image was added, there are no additional notifications to the user.
Price Syncing
When you change a product’s price in Shopify, AutoDS updates it in your account and automatically recalculates your profit margin and selling price.
If price monitoring is enabled, you’ll get a Price Update Alert letting you know the change was made. And if dynamic profit is on, it changes the percentage of the profit in the specific variation that was updated.
💡Pro Tip: While the feature works perfectly, adjusting prices directly within AutoDS ensures your profit margin stays optimized and prevents unexpected changes to your calculated profit.
Inventory and Quantity
AutoDS syncs your inventory based on your Shopify stock levels. But keep in mind that how this is handled depends on your stock monitoring and minimum product quantity settings in AutoDS.
In general:
- If Shopify shows more stock than AutoDS’s default, the product stays available.
- If Shopify shows less, AutoDS can mark it as out of stock.
- If the track quantity is unchecked, then the “Default Qty” value remains unchanged, and the product status is set to on hold.
- If stock monitoring is turned on, updated quantity from the supplier site will override changes made on Shopify.
This ensures that your Shopify changes are reflected correctly, helping you avoid overselling.
💡Pro Tip: Keep in mind that if you prefer to keep the manual changes made in Shopify, you’ll need to disable both monitoring features (price and stock). That said, we do not recommend this if you want to keep your product data accurate and up to date.
Benefits for Dropshippers and Shopify Sellers
This new sync feature was built with one goal in mind: to make product management faster, easier, and more accurate for busy sellers.
By automatically syncing changes from Shopify to AutoDS, you don’t need to update the same product in two places, freeing up time and reducing the risk of errors.
Here’s why it matters:
- No need to update products in AutoDS. Make your edits once in Shopify, and AutoDS takes care of the rest—no duplicate work.
- Reduces errors and saves time. No more mismatched titles, outdated prices, or missing tags. Everything stays consistent and up to date.
- Better control and consistency across platforms. As a result, you can avoid mistakes that mess with your margins or customer experience.
And who is it ideal for?
- Users who prefer updating product details in Shopify: That’s your main hub? Then this feature is totally for you 😉.
- Store owners managing large catalogs: Skip the manual work of updating hundreds of listings manually. Everything synced = peace of mind.
- Teams managing products in bulk: Keep workflows streamlined and reduce communication gaps between teams working across different tools.
